Featured campaign: Australia should be a leader in tackling corruption in the mining, gas and oil sectors

We are calling on the Australian government to ensure the highest standards of accountability for resource companies in Australia and overseas.

Our Mission

Publish What You Pay Australia is a coalition of 30 organisations campaigning for transparency and accountability in the oil, gas and mining industries.

Too often governments and powerful oil, gas and mining companies choose to operate in secrecy allowing corruption and tax cheating to run rampant. This keeps poor countries poor and means less money for all governments to spend on schools, hospitals, roads and responding to health crises and extreme weather events like droughts and bush fires.

Working together we can help bring an end to this secrecy and bring bad deals into the open so that everyone benefits from their natural resources.

“PWYP is a valued partner of Transparency International Australia. The work they do to promote revenue transparency in the extractives sector is so important. It helps ensure that the citizens in resource rich countries, such as Australia, get a fair share of their natural resource wealth. Shining a spotlight on royalties and taxes paid strengthens accountability in a sector that is vulnerable to corruption”.
